1. Who we are
WebStories is a one-creator comic platform run solely by stella0225. All artwork, chapters, characters and the platform itself are the original work of the creator. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. What we collect
- Account info — username, email, hashed password, your bio, avatar choice.
- Reader activity — chapters you read, the chapters/series you unlock, donations, comments and replies you post.
- Coin & payment metadata — Stripe handles all card data; we only store the success/failure of a transaction and the amount in coins or USD.
- Device basics — your browser sends standard request headers (IP address, user-agent). We do not run third-party trackers.
3. How we use it
- To keep your account signed in (a secure JWT cookie or local token).
- To let you unlock chapters with coins or $1 USD, and to track which chapters you own.
- To show your username, avatar, and comments to other readers.
- To enforce community rules — banned words / reported comments / banned users.
4. Who else sees your data
Only Stripe (for payments) and our hosting provider. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. Custom ad banners shown on the home, story, or chapter pages are uploaded directly by the creator and link out — they don't run remote ad-network code or set tracking cookies.
5. Cookies / local storage
We use one secure HTTP-only cookie for your login session and a small amount of localStorage for your token, the "first-time intro seen" flag, and your Building-Mode preference. No third-party cookies.
6. Your choices
- Edit or delete your bio / avatar from the profile page.
- Delete your own comments anytime.
- Email the creator to request account deletion — we will remove your account and unlink your comments within 30 days.
7. Children
WebStories is intended for readers 13 years and older. You confirm your age each time you create an account or log in.
8. Changes
If we materially change this policy, the new version will appear here and the "Last updated" date will change. Continued use of WebStories after a change means you accept the new policy.
